Canandaigua, N.Y. - Bulletin boards have always been a convenient source of information - something on which you could post advertising or reminders of community events - and now these simple boards are getting a technological makeover. A new type of digital bulletin board - that has been popping up recently in cities like New York - is also now starting to spring up in different Ontario County businesses. Advio - co-owned by Dan Heusler and Charles East - is a local digital signage provider.

Farmington, N.Y. - If you've ever been to Tim Hortons in Victor or Mac's Philly Steaks in Canandaigua, you may have noticed the high-definition screens scrolling advertisements and listings for community events. Advio, the company behind the screens, is coming up on one year in business and co-owner Dan Heusler is looking to expand. "We've had contacts with a variety of local establishments that aren't restaurants," Heusler said. The next screen, in fact, will be going up in the Canandaigua YMCA in next couple weeks, he said. Heusler, who owns the company along with business partner Charles East, said that we wanted to bring the digital signage that is so ubiquitous in big cities to the local community.
